Dawlat-e-Usmania or Ottoman Empire was a Muslim empire from 1922 to 1299 whose rulers were Turks. This empire was on its peak between 16th – 17th century. The Empire stretched over three continents and Southeast Europe, the Middle East and most of North Africa was under his rule. This great empire borders Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf to the east, the Strait of Gibraltar to the west, Austria, Slovakia and the Crimea (Ukraine) to the North, and was spread across in south Sudan, Somalia and Yemen to the South. There were 29 provinces altogether.
This book “Dawlat-e-Usmania” is authored by Dr. Uzair who was associated with Daar ul Musannifeen Shibli Academy (India). According to the former Nazim of Academy Syed Sulaiman Nadvi, this book at the time of it’s authorship, was the first book written in the Urdu language on the Ottoman’s history. What was written previously on the Ottoman Empire were merely translations and opinions of European authors. However, the author of this book has written it after seven years of hard work. It has been presented in detail in two volumes by incorporating translations from selected English, Arabic, and Persian authentic books as well as some selected translations from Turkish and French history books. According to the book’s preface, this book was first printed in 1939. This book that you’re being presented is the latest edition and was published in 2009.
